Proposal for improvement before filling out the questionnaires

Hello everyone,
I know some of us
are busy these days with tests, and some have a bit more "freedom" and therefore will probably want to fill the personal survey that Ortal had sent. However, I wanted to suggest that because some of us can't at the moment find the time to improve and organize our TLL and the ILL maybe we should all wait with filling out the questionnaires until all groups have completed their ILL/TLL and announce they finished doing so.
It just seems much more fair for all of us.

Thanks!

Team 4-7 Summary Feedbacks

Summary of the feedbacks given by the community for projects 4-7 at session 14.

Team 4- Technion International
·         Not clear how the terms learned in class were implemented in the project
·         Consider wider collaboration with the International school
·         Lack of metrics which measure progress
·         Assign a person who will be in charge of contacting relevant students
·         The project's continuity strategy isn't clear
·         Think about a marketing strategy so more international students will know about the project

Team 5- Isra-Intership
·         It is unclear who will continue developing the project after the semester ends and what are the future steps.
·         Present more details about open positions and companies
·         Find out how to work with more companies due to the growing demand of the service
·         Keep in touch with foreign students in order to continue hearing relevant feedback
·         The International school is a key player and can contribute a lot to the project

Team 6-   Rank your course
·         Continuity strategy isn't clear
·         Marketing
o   Think how to motivate students to participate
o   Project would be useful only at the beginning and end of semesters. Except these times the site would have little or no activity.
·         Expand the project to other faculties

Team 7- Eat Wizard
·         Target market is small
·         Uniqueness of the product isn't clear compared to its competitors
·         The website is addressing different target crowds. Define more clearly which aspects relate to every crowd
·         Use more terms learned in the course
·         The team showed a real progress from starting point in terms of marketing and design

Voice of the customer – Feedback given by SV community – Spring 2013

·        Voice of the customer feedback

Extend the time dedicated for presentations or don't limit the presentation's time
Presentations 5 -10 minutes to allow more teams to present.  Post summaries on LinkedIn
·         The layout of each session should have more discussions (and less lecture)
Community insert comments into LinkedIn presentations summaries.  Class discussion around these comments.
·         The syllabus should include a road map of the course and clarify the course's structure and its essence (should be less abstract)
The Idea will be implemented to the Fall Syllabus
·         Allocate more time for team's breakups
Give teams structured project-tasks to be accomplished during 30 minute breaks, and two 15 minute breaks for socializing.  Each team will have to report to the community (in presentation or on LinkedIn how they accomplished the task)
·         Get out the building (attend outside lectures or events as a community)
      http://mappedinisrael.com/, Look for interesting conferences/events
·         Use past student's experience
Extend advisory board, use LinkedIn group of SV excellence
·         Part of the reading requirements was redundant since it wasn't discussed in class
Use shorter articles with discussions on how to implement the ideas
·         Each team should have a weekly KPI (key performance indicators)
Find KPI's that are common to all projects, and specific projects to be chosen by each team.  This could be a good class exercise in which each team suggest KPIs for their team and for other team, depending on their project progress stage.
·         Bring more guest speakers with industry experience.
       OK
·         Have more options for a make-up
Assign makeus from a reading list not covered in class (Makeup Reading List).
·         Use LinkedIn instead of the SV forum. Centralize work in one platform.
OK.  Use current forum as Class Manager (for example, Apologies).
·         Articles should have more practical industry tools rather than entrepreneurship ones.
Use course tracks based on customer segments: entrepreneurship, intra-preneurship, and Grad-Research.
·         Devote time at the beginning of the course for personal acquaintance within the community.
·         Automate in-class exercise and make its information available to the community.
·         Each session a selected team would be the expert of an article and would present it to the community

Apology

Hi everyone,
I wish to apologize for leaving early at our last session. I had to leave early since my team was participating in the "winning project" contest, and we had to present our project to the judges and crowd. I left the contest right after we presented, but when I got back to class I realised the session was already over, so I didn't have the chance to say goodbye.
So I wanted to use the forum to tell you all, that it was my pleasure to get to know you all, and I wish you all the best of luck in the future no matter what you do or where you go.

best wishes,
Shuki

Team 1-3 Summary Feedbacks

Please see below a summary of the feedbacks given by the community for projects 1-3 at session 13.

Team 1 – Job Intelligence- Feedbacks
·         Isn't self sustained- the site needs to be updated by the team regularly.
·         The unfair advantage of the team isn't clear compared to other similar services (like Alljobs and Drushim sites)
·         Traffic metrics and analytics Are advisable (for example, the average time the user spends on the site, how many users have sent their CV using the site)
·         Continuation of the project is very important. The team showed in detail how to continue and expand the project.
·         Consider contacting small companies as well, as they offer more flexibility and chances to grow professionally.
·         The team listened and learned from the feedback of the community, and improved the project accordingly.

Team 2- Charity Works! - Feedbacks
·         Well presented, the video Brought an extra value to the presentation.
·         In addition to the TLL, each team member showed his/hers ILL.
·         Concepts of the course were well presented and implemented in the presentation.
·         More info should be provided about the continuation of the project and its competitors.
·         The TLL should have more specific details (for example, how did the team deal with problems)

Team 3- InterJob- Feedbacks
·         Assuming the web site will self sustain itself might cause a problem -The project might not survive.
·         Content supervising (checking content for spam or incorrect information) will make the site more reliable.
·         The videos on the site make the project special and remarkable.
·         The team should elaborate on the terms mentioned in the TLL by explaining how they implemented them on their project.
·         Insufficient incentive for creating content.
·         Team work mentioned in the presentation is important (although it is taken for granted in the course)

5 Tips for Presentation Confidence and Reducing Nervousness

Hi community,

“There are two types of speakers. Those who get nervous and those who are liars." Mark Twain.

Did you know that public speaking is the number one fear in America? The fear of death is ranked number two! We seem more afraid of public speaking than we are of physical demise, heights, jumping out of a plane, or dreaded in-laws.
Today some of us are going to present the final projects. So there are some TIPS in the following article:

GoEco

Hi Community!!
I just wanted to represent another site of volunteering activities, similar to our project (CharityWorks! Israel), but with only WORLWIDE activities.
We are now heading toward our summer break and if you have plans to travel to exotic places and you want to stay at a cheap place and also contribute to society this is the website for you.
You can volunteer abroad, feel good, save some money and update your CV with something unusual and interesting. I have volunteered during my South America trip, after the army through them and it was amazing!!

Reccomended: GOECO.

What is the best answer!?

We had this week a lovely presentation by Robert's sister. Like she said, there are some questions' answers that are not accepted while you're interviewing.
Don't you think yourself what should be the right answer?
We are been asked during the interview some question that we are speechless about them.
  • What did you like or dislike about your previous job?
  • What was the biggest failure in this position?
  • Why are you leaving your job?
  • What is your greatest weakness?

By entering this link What is the best answer?! you can find what should be the best answer!

Work to hard...?

Most of us know what it's like to be extremely busy...
Studies take a huge part of our days, not to mention work that is sometime a real time consumer...
Don't you often say to yourself -

"When I'll graduate life will be easier..."?

I know I do. And I hope life WILL be easier (:
BUT - in a few months, we all gonna find ourselves in a full time job...
How can we make sure to be successful in our new positions, and yet to have a life outside the office?

?How can we keep our Work Life Balance

The Seemingly Impossible Is Possible

I remember my first lecture I saw in TED. It was insightful lecture about poverty, but there was one more thing... We call it in the course "remarkable"... The result was a memorable lecture.

Maybe it will add some cool ideas to our presentations in the course.

If you don't have the time to watch all the 19 minutes just pass forward to 17:00.
