Team 1-3 Summary Feedbacks

Please see below a summary of the feedbacks given by the community for projects 1-3 at session 13.

Team 1 – Job Intelligence- Feedbacks
·         Isn't self sustained- the site needs to be updated by the team regularly.
·         The unfair advantage of the team isn't clear compared to other similar services (like Alljobs and Drushim sites)
·         Traffic metrics and analytics Are advisable (for example, the average time the user spends on the site, how many users have sent their CV using the site)
·         Continuation of the project is very important. The team showed in detail how to continue and expand the project.
·         Consider contacting small companies as well, as they offer more flexibility and chances to grow professionally.
·         The team listened and learned from the feedback of the community, and improved the project accordingly.

Team 2- Charity Works! - Feedbacks
·         Well presented, the video Brought an extra value to the presentation.
·         In addition to the TLL, each team member showed his/hers ILL.
·         Concepts of the course were well presented and implemented in the presentation.
·         More info should be provided about the continuation of the project and its competitors.
·         The TLL should have more specific details (for example, how did the team deal with problems)

Team 3- InterJob- Feedbacks
·         Assuming the web site will self sustain itself might cause a problem -The project might not survive.
·         Content supervising (checking content for spam or incorrect information) will make the site more reliable.
·         The videos on the site make the project special and remarkable.
·         The team should elaborate on the terms mentioned in the TLL by explaining how they implemented them on their project.
·         Insufficient incentive for creating content.
·         Team work mentioned in the presentation is important (although it is taken for granted in the course)

CharityWorks! Israel - Our final presentation

Last week, excited and enthusiastic, we've come to present to the community our accomplishments regarding the course project.

We would like to thank all of you for the support you have shown throughout the semester, including tips, constructive criticism, ideas and many other forms of feedback you have gave us.
Moreover, your undivided attention last week, while our presentation, was amazing and the feedback at the end was overwhelming.

Volunteering is important and we intend to spread out the word - it is now easy, more accessible & more social to volunteer!

Sincerely

5 Tips for Presentation Confidence and Reducing Nervousness

Hi community,

“There are two types of speakers. Those who get nervous and those who are liars." Mark Twain.

Did you know that public speaking is the number one fear in America? The fear of death is ranked number two! We seem more afraid of public speaking than we are of physical demise, heights, jumping out of a plane, or dreaded in-laws.
Today some of us are going to present the final projects. So there are some TIPS in the following article:

What is the best answer!?

We had this week a lovely presentation by Robert's sister. Like she said, there are some questions' answers that are not accepted while you're interviewing.
Don't you think yourself what should be the right answer?
We are been asked during the interview some question that we are speechless about them.
  • What did you like or dislike about your previous job?
  • What was the biggest failure in this position?
  • Why are you leaving your job?
  • What is your greatest weakness?

By entering this link What is the best answer?! you can find what should be the best answer!

Work to hard...?

Most of us know what it's like to be extremely busy...
Studies take a huge part of our days, not to mention work that is sometime a real time consumer...
Don't you often say to yourself -

"When I'll graduate life will be easier..."?

I know I do. And I hope life WILL be easier (:
BUT - in a few months, we all gonna find ourselves in a full time job...
How can we make sure to be successful in our new positions, and yet to have a life outside the office?

?How can we keep our Work Life Balance

The Seemingly Impossible Is Possible

I remember my first lecture I saw in TED. It was insightful lecture about poverty, but there was one more thing... We call it in the course "remarkable"... The result was a memorable lecture.

Maybe it will add some cool ideas to our presentations in the course.

If you don't have the time to watch all the 19 minutes just pass forward to 17:00.

How Often Should I Look For a Job?

Most of us are still before our first full time job and we doesn't know the rules yet, but it's interesting to know, after you acclimatized in a company, how long you should stay there, when you should feel that it's the right time to move to another company or actively look for one.
Hi,
I would like to give a special recognition for

1. The most creative make-up I've seen
2. The make-up was like a summarize of all the important things we have learnt so far

Looking for a new job? Some TIPS...

Hi,
Some of us work in different companies, different positions. Soon we are going to graduate the Technion and find an engineer position. In the article, there are some tips how to look for a new job when you are still working in your student position.
I'll give some spoilers from the article:
1.     Don't tell your boss
2.     Don't tell your friends
3.     Send your CV wisely

2 Main Lessons Learned form my make-up

1) In today's social and connected world, people have individuality and power. When you start a company, it should evolve from a true and genuine cause to make something better for people.

2) Cooperation and aiding is in our DNA. If you want your company to succeed, it has to involve cooperation of the customers

The cooperative company

Etsy is a cooperative company- a site where the participants are buyers and creators (sellers) of hand-made products.

The uniqueness of Etsy
Comprised of tens of thousands of micro-brands- they are the company and the users.
One of a kind product for the customer- a high desire in today's industrial world
Consumers co- create with crafters- Emotional ties for the buyers
Meticulous mindful practice and skill making the products- antidote to 21st century life
Primary motive: helping the community of artists and not financial gain for the site staff
  Constant peer consulting between artists
Popularity of products based on professional judgment- artists comment one another
* Do it yourself doesn't have to be lonely.

Here is a funny link to one of the movies that started the revolution of customers' power and individuality and the need to make the company cooperative:
I would like to give a special recognition for
because she helped me with my make-up. She listenned thoroughly to what I had to say on my presentation (before I presented) and helped me summarize the content so it would fit to the demmand of making it short. Thank you!
Hi,
I would like to give a special recognition for
 for the following 2 reasons:

1. Joining our team and helping out with programming one of the features that is on its way to be a "remarkable feature"- the traffic light of calories of the daily food consumption on our site.
He is a crucial force when it comes to developing our technology.

2. Helping me out on a personal level on the content of my make-up: "the cooperative company"

Course MVP metrics

I had an idea last class (17/06) which I shared with Alex and Ortal.
Ortal insisted that I'll write it on the forum for her to remember and for us to comment on.
I wasn't intending to do so at first because I would then actually generate more work for the staff ... :)

Basically, I asked them, if you're (the staff) always speaking about how some parts of the course are sort of a MVP themselves, like the bulletin board, the forum, etc. - What do you think about showing us your metrics and progression along the past few courses?
It occurred to me that it would be interesting to see how this "product" pivoted in the last couple of years or so and how our feedback is considered in order to improve it for the next courses...

I'm not sure about the doability of quantifying the stats of the past courses into measure values as they might have not been collected, or maybe partially collected, so one could also take this idea as a suggestion for the upcoming course and those after - Defining metrics and collecting data regarding the course MVP.

The metrics definition could also be a makeup assignment*, if somebody still needs to do one...
* if the staff concurs

Shahar.

Recognition

Thank you +Robert Feldmann for inviting your sister to share her knowledge.
It was fascinating and very useful.

Why I Will Never Hire You

Some awesome content for the projects related with job interviews and job posting:

Entrepreneur or Intrapreneur.. What is the difference?

We all have read during our classes about the term Entrepreneur.
I can also add that I was well aware of it, but I was less connected to it.
Therefore when Eitan mentioned the other term - Intrapreneur I was intrigued to know what it means and what is the different between those 2 terms.

After a small research, I’m sharing the article that helped me the most..

Enjoy!

Maybe you're not looking for a job, but a job can look for you

79% of today’s working professionals aren't looking for a job. But that doesn't mean one of them isn't the perfect candidate.
Since most of the workers are too busy working to notice opportunities, you have to change your approach ahead.

Good Job Hani!

We wanted to congratulate our team member Hani for her successful presention this last Monday (even though she doesn't believe us) and for her courage and determination in overcoming her fear of presenting before an audience in English.
Personally, I can tell you that for every presention she spends a lot of time to get ready as much as possible.

So Hani, with love from all your team GOOD JOB!

Makeup presentation - A 3 day startup

Hi everyone,
I'll keep it short. I'm very glad to hear that you've found interest in my makeup presentation.
I will be happy to elaborate on any related subject whenever you'd like.

Here's a link to the presentation: https://www.dropbox.com/s/g193ksgqfwe5yw1/Makeup.pdf

I have censored the  presentation in order to allow us (the project team) to go forward with the idea without having it's business plan documented online, but again I'd be more than willing to speak with anyone privately as it has been a great experience and worth sharing.

I would like to say that learning the Lean methodology, it's principles and practices has supported this project in a considerable way! Don't take the course material for granted, as it is a big plus to be exposed to such management methods.

Shahar.

How books can open your mind

This a TED lecture of a Chinese woman, who have an alternative approach for book reading.
She developed a method of how to read, comparing all kind of books and taking lessons from the books that help her  overcome frustration and handle with the big world.

This week I`ll like to give an special recognition to Topaz and Adi!! Topaz did and outstanding work preparing the presentation and researching the necessary topics to improve the new site design with will be launch in the middle of October improving all the aspects of the platform, the improvements are based on the continuous feedback we are getting from our eager users. At the same time Adi is using the site preparing herself for the weeding season and she gave us some precious feedback and we are really thank full for her help!!

Make-Up presenations

,Hi everyone

.I will like to make a comment of a thing that bothers me in the course

Last Monday while Shahar presented his presentation of how he used the lean methodology we stopped him because he passed the 5 minutes. I was fascinating to hear about it, and heard others asking many questions during the break. It is not the first time we stop presentations cause the time limit. In my opinion the time limit should be a guiding line but not a strict rule because we lose relevant information.

Right, if the presentation takes more than 10 minutes we might want to stop it, but I don't think it was the case in any of the presentation.

!Have a great week community and Mazal Tov Bareket

Need Your Assistance..

Due to my absence the last 2 sessions, Eitan and I thought about a cool idea for a Make Up that is going to benefit us all.
During the semester we learnt a lot of new terms, which were collected into our course jargon.
In order to make those terms more valuable to us, I wanted to create a nice Make Up presentation using our     jargon. So at first, before thinking how I'm going to present it in a cool and creative way, I want to collect all of the terms and words into a list.
I would really appreciate it if you all can response and give me some of the terms that you have absorbed from our course.

Thanks!
Liad
Hi All,

I wanted to apologize for missing the last sessions. I was abroad.

Thank you Eat Wizard

Hi Eat Wizard team:

I was curious go to your site after I heard your presentation today at class.
I built myself a new menu hoping to lose weight for the wedding season!
As someone enters the site for the first time I have found that the registration is very easy, instructions were clear, the content were useful and the design was very interesting.

I'm definitely going to recommend this site to all my friends!
Thank you for your contribution.

S.T.F.U - my lesson from pitching to investors

In my career  I've pitched my company to hundred of shaky investors. Some nice, some kind but mostly sharky. I've raised more than $5,000,000 to my company, and the most important lesson I've learned in managing feedback is to Shut The Fuck Up, and listen. Being a red head, keeping silence is challenging so I used to write on my knuckles S. T. F. U.

When presenting to investors or MVP for this matter, it's far more important to listen, absorb and digest  than to argue your point. Yes, many times people are nasty and just want to sound smart - but you won't change that by arguing. More often people didn't catch what you said, or your message, product etc - YOU are the only one to blame for that. The point is that you as presenter should improve for the next time, and do a better job!

Last week one of the students came to complaining about the feedback I gave to their MVP. Personally the objective is never to offend anyone, and if I do such I'm sorry. With that said, my tip would be to embrase relavent feedback there, and improve.

In the meanwhile, I'll continue STFU....;-)

sorry

hey - tomorrow i won't be able to attend class. Sorry.

Breaking Bad Habits

Thanks to the article Mor Ben Ami posted (just below me), I was thinking:
how productive am I?
The answer was: "you have a lot to go" (:
That's what brought me to the following article...
You can find some tips about breaking your Bad Habit (in 28 days!).
Sometime those habits are exactly what stops us from being productive...
So why don't we try to break them?

How can I be more productive?

Be honest with yourself. How often do you do only one thing at a time?
How often do you feel like you've wasted a lot of time just staring Facebook and Twitter instead of doing things you really need like, for example, homework?
Here are some tips for a more productive workday.
