As my make up, I would like to present you a summery of a video about the structure of a great presentation. I hope that it will help the groups with their upcoming final presentation of the project.

Nancy Duarte: The secret structure of great talks

The most powerful tool of all is an Idea. But unless its communicated properly, an idea doesn't have real power. The most efficient way to convey the Idea is by story, since  people have physical reaction to a story and thus become more involved. The best example of that is folklore -  values and wisdom of the past generations would stay in tact due to the stories that were told from generation to generation.

 Like every great story, music or art a presentation should have a form also. Ms. Duarte found such a shape and it looks like this:




She  overlaid 2 of the great speeches: Martin Luther King "I have a dream" and Steve Jobs 2007 iphone launch speech and they both fitted this shape.

The shape above represents the structure of a great presentation. According to Ms. Duarte you should start with describing the current world without your idea in it and than describe what could be if your idea was excepted, when doing so you should try and make the gap  between two worlds as big as possible.

 Than as you can see from the picture you should continue to move back and forth between the two worlds: what is and what could be, and by that convince the audience that your idea will make the world better. At the end you should make a call for an action and finish your speech with describing the "new bliss", the world with your idea excepted making it a new norm.
